OptiQ Dispatch

Terms

These terms cover OptiQ Dispatch, a safety phone line for industrial sites, provided by RICS Services Inc. in British Columbia. They describe what the service does and what each site sets. Fees, the length of a subscription, how it ends, liability and the law that applies are in each site's written agreement with RICS Services Inc.

What OptiQ Dispatch does

OptiQ Dispatch gives a site one number for anyone on site, on any phone. It answers, works out the problem from the site's own approved procedures and documents, and calls the people the site has chosen until someone accepts. Pressing 9 or saying a clear injury word calls first aid immediately. For safety-procedure work it names the site's approved procedure. It never makes up steps. After a call it can prepare a draft of the site's incident paperwork for a person to review. It never files a report.

What it does not do

OptiQ Dispatch never calls 911. In an emergency, the site's emergency plan and 911 come first.

On an ordinary call the line cannot see where the caller is. It asks, and when the site turns it on it can text the caller a link to share the phone's position.

We publish no uptime figure. When the line is down, the number plays a recorded message and calls the site's fallback list.

What the site sets

The site chooses its own settings: who is called and in what order, its approved procedures and documents, its incident form, its admin users, how long its records are kept, and whether location, direct connect and procedures by text are on. The line asks each person on the call list for consent by text before it calls or texts them.

The line always tells callers it is an AI and that the call is recorded. A site chooses only how: in the greeting or as a separate line.

The services behind the line

The line runs on our server in Toronto and uses Twilio, Deepgram, Anthropic and Cloudflare.
